Mt. Kailash (6714 m) - In the far west of Tibet is Mt Kailash, the most sacred mountain in Asia, which is venerated by Buddhists, Hindus, Jains and the ancient Bon religion of Tibet. From it flow four great rivers – the Karnali, the Indus, the Sutlej and the Brahmaputra – which drain the vast Tibetan Plateau. It is an important site for Tibetan and Indian pilgrims who make a 53km circuit or Kora (to make the circle). 

In ancient period, it took years for sages and saints to reach Mt. Kailash for salvation (Mukti), and above that it was inaccessible for common people. But now because of modern transport system, the path to salvation is no longer an isolated dream. Now it doesn't take more than two weeks to materialize your much awaited life time dream. As sacred scripture says the path to divinity is always difficult, your trip to Mt. Kailash will be adventurous making you longing for Mt. Kailash. The trip begins from Kathmandu with a scenic drive to Zhangmu in Tibet crossing Nepalese border Kodari. After Zhangmu comfortable Japanese Landcruiser made for rough and tough road will take you to the holy Lake Mansarovar and Mt. Kailash for the pilgrimage circumbulation which is also called kora. You will be blessed with holy bath and parikrama to achieve your ultimate spiritual goal before returning to Kathmandu.

Day 1 :

Arrival at Tribhuban International airport, meet and welcome by our office representative and transfer to hotel. Evening briefing about the tour overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2 :
After breakfast leave for temple sightseeing tour of Lord Pshupatinath temple, Lord Narayan alaso known as sleeping Bishnu (Budhanilakantha templ) and Soyambhunath stupa. Return to hotel, lunch and rest of the day is free for the preparation of tour. Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 3 :
Early breakfast at hotel and drive to Nepal/China border also known as Tatopani by coach to commence tour to Nyalam (3800m) Complete immigration formalities in Nepal side and walk approx 15 minutes to cross friendship bridge. Complete all China side immigration formalities and walk further ahead & get introduced with your Chinese guide and land cruiser/coach drivers. After introduction, proceeds the journey to Nyalam. Arrive Nyalam and overnight stay at guest house.

Day 4 :
Full day acclimatization at Nyalam. Freshly cooked meals, tea, coffee and snacks will be served. Overnight stay at guest house.

Day 5 :
After breakfast, drive to Saga (215km, 5 to 6 hours, 4850m) or New Dongpa (332 km, 8 houurs, 4500m) through Tibetan plateau via Lalung La pass, Paiku lake (PAIKU TSO) and cross the Brahmaputra river (known here as the Yarlung Tsangpa). Packed hot lunch will be served on the way. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 6 :
Drive from Saga/New Dongpa to Mansarovar (427 km, 8 hours drive, 4500m)/ (325 km, 7 hours 4500m). Packed hot lunch will be served on the way overnight stay guest house.

Day 7 :
Morning holy bath and Puja at lake Mansarovar. Visit Chiu Gompa & drive (30km) to Darchen (4550m) for about 2 hours. After lunch, visit to Astapad (8km drive) can be organized with an extra cost. Ovenight stay at guest house.

Day 8 :
With packed lunch box, drive to Tarboch Flag Pole, the first prostration point, an auspicious gateway and sky burial ground. Visit Yamadwar and further drive to Sershong (total 8km) Meet your porters/pony caretaker/guide etc. and trek to Dirapuk (4765m, 10km, 3 to 4 hours trek). Overnight stay guest house.

Day 9 :
Continue Parikrama overn Dormala pass (5610m) to Zuthulpuk (4700m) 22km/ 7 to 8 hours trek. Overnight stay at camp.

Day 10 :
Last and final day of Mt. Kailash Parikarma ends near Darchen (14km/ 3 to 4 hrs trek) & drive to Saga (450km, 6 hours. Arrive Saga, & overnight stay at hotel.

Day 11 :
Drive Saga to Nyalam (215km, 5 to 6 hours drive. Overnight stay at guest house.

Day 12 :
Drive Nyalam to friendship bridge (40km)- Nepal/China border and complete the immigration formalities in China side. Cross the border and complete the immigration formalities in Nepal side. Walk further down where your coach to Kathmandu will be waiting. Lunch will be arranged on the way or at your hotel in Kathmandu. Arrive Kathmandu 5 hours drive 125 km. Evening dinner with Nepali cultural show. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 13 :
Free time until your departure transfer to the international airport for your onward flight.
