Langtang Gosaikunda Trekking is an amalgamation of beautiful landscapes as well as the enriched culture of inhabitants. It is the isolated region yetoutstanding valley of Langtang. The most populated residents in high mountain lakes Gosaikunda are Tamang and Sherpa’s. The Gosaikunda area is celebrated as one of the holy shrine among the Hindus people. According to Hindu mythology, Gosaikunda is a resident of Hindu Gods Lord Shiva and Goddess Gauri.

The trails are very much arduous and also challenging in the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek because of being long, vertical and descents, ridges near the lakes and many more. But being challenging is one of the beautiful parts of Langtang Gosaikunda Trek as it gives you the opportunity to be right into the Himalayan peaks and walking through fascinating yet remote and unprecedented areas.

Gosaikunda Trek Itinerary

Day 01Day of arrival in Kathmandu

Today right after your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport one of the representatives from our company Trailblazer Travel and Tours will transfer you to your respected hotel. After then you will have some refreshment and take rest. We will have a general briefing about our journey and there will be welcome dinner in one of the genuine Nepalese restaurants with Nepalese cuisine in the evening. Night stay at the hotel.

Day 02Day of sightseeing in Kathmandu

Today, we will be touring around the prime tourist destination of Kathmandu. We will visit World Heritage Sites (religious and historical sites) like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath and Bouddha stupas. You will enjoy the streets of Kathmandu where you will get chance to encounter with the arts and architectures around and even the ancient lifestyle and ancient Nepalese culture. In the Afternoon we will visit Thamel and even will visit Trailblazer travel and Tours office and introduces our self and have some discussion regarding the trek. Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03Drive to Syabru Bensi from Kathmandu (1550m/5100ft) 7-8 hours

Early morning after breakfast we start our journey on a bus to Syabru Bensi from Kathmandu. Along the route, you will get beautiful views of snow-capped mountains, the greenery hills, with rigorous rivers and the mesmerizing villages. We will reach to Dhunche Bazaar in evening and afterward our overnight stay will be at Syabru Bensi.

Day 04Trek from Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel (2450m): 6-7 hours

Today our journey starts along the Bhote Koshi River, from where you will reach to Gompa of the Guru Rinpoche. Our trail leads us to the Lang tang Khola, which is jam-packed with rocks. Moving along the trail you will be amazed by the breath-taking views of the vegetation and the river, and this will even enhance your energy. Moving along the trail we will encounter with the sub-tropical forest full of oaks, fir, blue pine, maple and the rhododendron trees as well, if its spring season you get chance to view the mesmerising flowers everywhere. Throughout our trek you will also come across the varieties of wild animals like: wild-boars, Langur, Red Pandas,Himalayan black bears and many others. Finally, ascending the trail will take you to Rimche (2400) and ending of trail takes us to Lama Hotel for our overnight stay.

Day 05Trek to Langtang village from Lama Hotel (3430m):4-5 hours

Our early morning after breakfast start with ascending towards the wild forests encompassed with different trees. Here, we climb through the wild forests full of hemlocks, oaks, maples, including beautiful multiple coloured (white and pink) rhododendrons lying high above the gently flowing Langtang Khola. As it is the arduous journey but during our trekking you will get to view the magnificent views of snow-capped mountains. The beautiful view of Mt. Langtang Lirung (7244m) will help to eliminate your tedious trip through the trees. Moving forward will lead you to see the helipad and yak pastures, the rhododendrons and the beautiful Tamang village. You will have the chance to see the outstanding view of The Tamang village with beautifully architectedhouses in flat- roofed like Tibetan style and decoratively carved windows.

Day 06Trekking to Kyanjin Gompa (3870m): 2-3 hours

Today our trail drivesahead through Tamang village and climb up to the ridge which crosses a stream leading us to the small but beautiful village of Mundu (3442m). As we move ahead following the trail we come across the various small streams having wooden cantilever bridges and debris. It will be a new experience for us. Moving ahead will take us to the monastery of Kyanjin Gompa and theatrical flow of the ice from the peak of Langtang Lirung and Kimshung. Here you will get to enjoy the settings of the blissful landscapesthat are much captivating. You can even have a look at the Cheese factory which is worth watching. Here you will get the chance to enjoy the tasty Cheese and Curd of Yak. We will have our lunch right after we reach. And after the lunch break, you got a lot of time to explore the surrounding areas having breath-taking views of Langtang Liring, Tserdo RI, Ganja la, Langshisa- RI, Genjempol, Kyangin RI, Naya Kang, Yala Peak and many more.

Day 07Acclimatization in Kyanjin Gompa (3870m)

Today is the day to acclimatize our self for rest of trekking and exploring beautiful backdrops around. You have plenty of time to sightsee the monasteries, the breath-taking snow-capped peaks/mountains around and highly decorated dropping of glaciers of Langtang Lirung. We will be ascending to Kyanjin RI and Tserko RI, which are amongst the top point of this trek. As we are now standing on the highest spot, from where the panoramic views of Langtang Lirung, Yansa Tsenji, and Langtang range will oblige us to encompass with its beauty and stay there for long. Finally, reaching at the peak, we have some time and options to have short visit to Langshisa Kharka. Night stay will be at Langshisa Kharka. Back to Kyangin in the morning.

Day 08Back to Lama Hotel (2450m): 6 hours

Early morning reverse gear, but it is not worth less than ascending as you will enjoy within the captivating scenes during descending. While having breakfast you will be in the awe-inspiring moment by the backdrops around you that makes you stay more time there. We will walk along the same trail back from Langtang Khola towards Langtang village. Our lunch will be at Ghora Tabela, and after that, we will descend towards Lama Hotel, this time you can enjoy those scenes if you have missed while ascending earlier.

Day 09Trek to Big Syabru Bensi from Lama Hotel (2230m): 6-7 hours

Today our trek starts from Lama Hotel along the river that passes through the forests of pine and Junipers trees to Thulo (Big) Syabru Bensi. You will be amazed by the enormous beauty along the trail, here you will come across the wild animals like red pandas, monkeys, boar and numerous types of beautiful birds. As going along, we even have pleasure to get familiarised with Tamang’s culture and lifestyle. “Thulo Syabru Gaun” encompasses amazing customs, traditions and cultures which will make you much fascinated towards. This place comprises the breath-taking views of landscapes that adds an extra feature to our journey. You can have a scenic view of Ganesh Himal (7110m), Langtang Himal and its ranges. Finally reaching there, you have time to explore the place as well as other new things around Syabru village.

Day 10Big Syabru Bensi to Sing Gompa (3330m): 3-4 hours

Today we will start our trek from Big Syabru Bensi that will take us to Dursagang (2735), moving along the trail we will come across the glorious views of Langtang, Ganesh Mountain and Tibetan Mountain. Our path goes through an awe-inspiring rhododendron forests and grasslands at the top of Phoparng Danda (3190m). Standing at top is chance to enjoy watching beautiful sun set and variations of animals too. Our way takes us to the flat space to the Sing Gompa, here we will spend our night at teahouse and you can also have fun with around the locality.

Day 11Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda Lake (4460m): 4-6 hours

Today our journey starts with much pleasure as we get to relish the beautiful panoramic views of snow-capped Himalayas like Annapurna, Himchuli, Manaslu, Ganesh and Langtang. As our path trails a ridge throughout the day mostly and finally we get chance to get the sight of holy lakes. We relish to see the holy lake Gosaikunda (4380m), renowned for its religious and cultural significance which is sought by Hindu pilgrimages and celebrated sites for them. Gosaikunda is surrounded by mountains on almost all sides and is accompanied by nine other lakes. It has religious as well as cultural significance, so mostly in Janai Purnima thousands of Hindus take visit to lake for holy bath, the large stone within the centre is shrine of Lord Shiva. Overnight in Gosaikunda.

Day 12Gosaikunda to Ghopte (3440m): 6-8 hours

Today our journey is more arduous and stimulating one because our trail goes around the norther coast of the Lake, till we climb towards the Laurebina Pass lying at 4610m. As we move on and ascent to the Lauribina La Pass, we touch the Helambu region, from where our trail decends to the Melamchi valley. The trail is much jagged and full of rubbles but is well noticeable. To reach to the Pass we are supposed to pass three more lakes, while climbing we enjoy with the beautiful views of hills and the milieus around. We pass through the Surya Kunda before we step into Ghopte. Overnight in Ghopte.

Day 13Ghopte to Tharepati (3510m): 1-2 hours

You have to face many ups and downs while descending from Ghopte, you will encounter small rivers to rocky trails.
