Annapurna Base Camp Trekking FAQs

01How my Character needs to be, is this trek for me?

• Annapurna base camp trek suits for people who are fit, no need to be experienced. It will be good if you are concerned on your physical fitness like running, swimming, hiking. We in fact recommend to embark these exercises for your journey.
• If you are suffering from kind of any medical condition, we suggest you to seek medical advice from your doctors before coming to trek.
• Trekking is not an easy task, so you need to be aware regarding the discomfort before being adapted in the regions.
• It is better you prepare for trekking for at least 2/3 months before you depart, an aerobic exercise would be pretty much good and needs to follow 3/4 times per week as a minimum requirement.

02What is the procedure of airport pickup, will someone come there for me on my arrival?

• The procedure of airport pickup is that we will send one of our representative to pick you up. He will stand there holding the sign of Trailblazer Tours and Treks outside the terminal, he will greet you and transfer you to your respected hotel in our private vehicle.

03How can I get visa for Nepal? Is it upon on arrival at the airport?

• Yes, the visa is on arrival and it is easy to get at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. And the visa differs accordingly on the basis of your stay in Nepal. The more you stay you need to pay more, but you will get Tourist Visa with Multiple Entries. As US $ 25 for 15 days, and for 30 days you need to pay

04Do I need any extra documents?

• It’s hassle free, as you just need to bring a copy of your travel insurance, your passport with 3 (passport sizes) photos while coming for trip to Nepal. The photos are needed for permits.

05What kind of facilities will be there in Kathmandu, Pokhara and within Trekking?

• Our motto is to give perfect service to our customers, for that reason we do not compromise with the standard. We will transfer you to standard rooms at three-star hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara as per our commitment.
• We are much concerned with the health of our customers, so during the trek along teahouses, guesthouses we provide clean rooms, with basic facilities.
• We can also provide our own sleeping bags but it is the best idea to have your own during trekking.
• The lodges within the treks normally provides single and double room. If possible, there will be dining around a bon fire. The toilet in teahouses are full with crucial and basic facilities.

06As the weather is cold, do guesthouses heated or have air-conditioning facilities?

• As the weather is cold but the guest houses do not facilitate with air-conditioners or heaters. However, when it gets colder above 3500m, they have the minimal facility to hit the dining room by using kerosene or metal heater. To use this facility, you have to spend some dollars.

07Can I please know about the toilet facilities along the trail?

There are toilet facilities in teahouse/guesthouse but apart from that while on trek and in emergency case you find some secluded place and go for toilet.

08I have heard about foods not being that hygienic, can you please clarify this? What kind of food can we expect during our journey?

• Yes, there is rumor but it is better to visit and experience on your own. We are much concerned with the hygiene and the cook in most teahouses/lodges in Annapurna Base Camp trail are experienced in cooking a delicious range of food items.
• You can enjoy the varieties of food ranging from pasta, potatoes, lentils, soups, fresh vegetables, eggs and many more. They will even serve you tasty dessert. There will the non-vegetarian items too, you even enjoy with chocolates, hot drinks, soft drinks, and chips.

09How is the drinking water facility in the trekking zones?

• There isn’t any problem for bottled water as it is easily available at guesthouse and lodges. But Yesh above Chhomorng you need to take purified water as plastic bottles are banned by Annapurna conservation area.
• If you have plan to drink normal water you must bring some kind of purifying drops or any kind of purifier with you.

Manaslu Trek Itinerary

Day 1Day of Arrivalin Kathmandu.

Today is a day of arrival in Kathmandu. We will be there at the airport to greet and pick you up. One of the staff from Trailblazer Trekking and Tours will transfer you to your respective hotel. Today you can enjoy around the streets of Kathmandu and explore around Thamel area. In the evening there will be a welcome dinner within authentic Nepalese Restaurant with Nepalese cuisine with beautiful cultural programs.

Day 2Day of sightseeing in Kathmandu and brief intro to the trek.

Today we will go sightseeing in Kathmandu valley and around. Mostly we will visit the center of attraction sites especially those listed in world heritage sites like Pashupatinath, Swyambhunath, Bouddhanath, Durbar Square and other attractive places. In the evening we will visit Trailblazer Office and have some brief session of our upcoming trekking.

Day 3Drive to Soti-Khola- 07 hrs passing through Aarughat - 06 hrs

Good Morning!! After having nice breakfast Morning our journey leads us towards the Aarughat of Gorkha that lies in the Mid- West of Nepal. Today our destination is Soti Khola so we drive for approximately 6 hours following the Budi Gandaki River and finally reaches to the village of Soti-Khola. Our overnight stay will be at Soti Khola.

Day 4Trekking to Machha Khola from Soti Khola - 06 hrs

After having breakfast, we start our trek for the day. Moving ahead we will come across the beautiful small villages, passes through the forests, crystal clear streams, white waterfalls and many beautiful backdrops along the route till we reach to Lapu besi. After touching Lapu besi we will be mesmerised by its beauty comprising of cultivated terrace land, many outstanding settings around, and even the beautiful lifestyle, culture and customs of mainly Mongolian inhabitants. Walk ahead within a zigzag trail we reach to Machha Khola our destination for today.Overnight at Machha Khola.

Day 5Trekking from Machha Khola to Dobhan via Tatopani - 06 hrs.

Early morning after having fine breakfast our trail moves ahead and come across the mesmerizing farm villages and breath-taking cultivated fields. Leaving Machha Khola behind our route moves ahead upstream towards the small yet beautiful village of Khorla Bensi and we bump into the hot springs at Tatopani. As we continue to walk on, the trail turns out to be steep and a bit arduous. It is quite stimulating in some places but this is what we call the beauty of adventure and wild. Our trekking continues, we cross a suspension bridge and then we enter into the forest that will finally take us to Dobhan, that is positioned on above the mighty Budigandaki River.

Day 6Trekking to Jagat - 05 hrs.

After having breakfast, we continue our journey early morning, trek to Lauri, where we cross the river on suspension bridge, climb up on high way and descends to the valley of Yara Khola. Continuing the trek for some hours will finally take us to Jagat. Jagat is a beautiful farmed village that comprises of different race/class people like Magar, Chhetries, Brahmins, Manaslu Bhatia (Tibetan looking tribes) and even Newar. Most of the people here run their own business like lodge, shops and other.

Day 07Trekking from Jagat to Deng: 6-7 hours

We start our trekking early morning after having fine breakfast. During the trek at first we ascend uphill and walk through flat path, we cross Budi Gandaki river on a suspension bridge, before entering to Philim village. Philim is one big village where Gurungs are the main inhabitants, you can enliven here with small yet beautiful and placid monasteries, chortens and the colorful prayer flags flapping high above. You can even have fun watching beautiful houses around which are even durable too. Here we will have lunch and after that our trekking moves ahead on the flat leveled path, we will walk through the pine, rhododendron and fir forest with all-encompassing emotion. Continuing the trek, we even cross few bridges and to the point from where we can view the beautiful vibrantthatched roof villages at a distant. We can see some house at Deng, and even can enjoy the beautiful flowing waterfalls at some distant. Deng is well-known for its agricultural products mainly potatoes, wheat, cabbage, buck wheat, and spinach. Most of the people are involved in agriculture for financial and survival cause.

Day 08Trek Deng to Namrung:

Today we start our trip after having fine breakfast. Initially, our trail moves on the flat leveled path and after then ascends uphill all the way towards Namrung through the plush forest. After reaching Namrung, we will get an opportunity to relish on the inspiringsights of Mt. Manaslu, the rock hillocks and green valley and elevations encircling. Namrung, is a beautiful Buddhist village with lots of monasteries, it also consists hydroelectricity powerhouse, chortens, colorful prayer flags flapping in the praying to god for bygone souls on the crests of Mt. Manaslu. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 09Trek from Namrung to Samagaun:

Early morning breakfast and we start our trek, today we trek along the windy path that goes through the windy Himalayan region, during the walk we get chance to come across the mesmerizing views of Rupinala Pass, Mt. Manaslu, Dwijen Himal, Lajing Peak, and many breath-taking shimmering mountains. In this course, we move up, where the vegetation starts to decrease because of the altitude and the minimal air. You will have windy and chilly weather in this part in the afternoon. In the course of our trail, we encounter with mani walls, colorful prayer flags, chortens and beautiful monasteries. We will continue our trekking till we reach to Samagaun, moving towards Samagaun we follow the river bank with the awe-inspiring view of 29 peaks in front. Soon we reach to Samagaun and overnight stay over here in Guesthouse.

Day 10Acclimatization at Samagaun:

Today we will take rest at Samagaun to adapt to the place, weather. We will give a little break to our limbs as we had a penetrating hiking throughout. This acclimatization day also gives some rest to our lungs, this will enhance our ability to cope up with altitude sickness in our upcoming hike. As it will adapt to be in elevation. The surrounding is very calm and soothing as it is encircled by beautiful mountains, so it is very much helpful to acclimatize our self. As it is rest day we even can have a short hike to Manaslu Base camp for outstanding views of various mountains nearby. Our overnight stay is at the guest house.

Day 11Trek from Samagaun to Samdo:

Today after fine breakfast within the exquisite ambiance, we initiate our trek gradually ascending towards Samdo. We pass through the windy and desert way while going to Samdo. You can have a view of the Tibetan border which lies just four km from Samdo, but you are not allowed to pass the border area. Samdo does even have a Tibetan refugee village. Again, you can have excellent views of the several mountain peaks from Samdo. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 12Trek from Samdo to Larkya La Phedi/Dharmashala:

After having fine breakfast, we move our legs along the zigzag and rocky trail throughout before reaching our destination for today Larkya La Phedi. After reaching, you can stroll around the market named as Larkya Bazaar where the seasonal fairs are frequently organized, and this is for the local population as people bring goods from Tibet to sell over here. Our Overnight is at Guesthouse.

Day 13Trek from Larkya La Phedi to Larkya La Pass to Bimthang:

Today we will start our trek early morning right after the breakfast, and today we will have pretty arduous trek, as we are moving towards passing the Larkya La along the rocky and windy trail. This area is pretty much difficult so needs to be prepare for dining and camps too. Reaching at the top, we will come across the beautiful view of Sunrise, Larkya Peak, Manaslu, Ratna Chuli, and other several glittering mountains and peaks. We come across the rock and ice while moving through the path, on our we even encounter with icy lakes that takes your nerve down by its chilling temperature. Bimthang is a wide valley comprising of numerous Mani walls and desolate houses our overnight will be at guest house.

Day 14Trek to Tilije - 7 Hours

Today we have much easier route comparing to the previous ones. As it is easy, so we start with a soft hike, moving ahead through the paddy fields leads us to beautiful and small Karcha La Pass. As we climb down through the forests of fig and rhododendron we reach to Tilije. Overnight at nice and cosy guesthouse.

Day 15Trek from Tilije to Tal - 6 Hours

Today we proceed our trek passing through the villages with much thicker population towards our way to Tal. It is mild hiking, spending few hours we reach to Dharapani where we will have our lunch for today. Moving along the trail we come across several streams and wheat fields too.It is very pleasing rambling around the picturesque backdrops and on the suspension bridge over Marsyangdi River, hereafter moving ahead will takes us to Tal. This beautiful village lies on the bank of the river which even comprises a large waterfall enhancing its splendour. Have pleasure watching this. Overnight is at guesthouse.

Day 16Drive to Kathmandu via Besisahar - 9 Hours.

Today we will travel to Kathmandu on a jeep via Beshishahar. The road is pretty coarse and jerky till Beshishahar and after then the road is much smoother. We will have pleasure relishing the beautiful sceneries along the highway. The breath-taking views of hills, the smooth rivers will definitely catch our eyes throughout. Spending 9 hours on drive, we willtouch Kathmandu. Night stay at a hotel.

Day 17Leisure day in Kathmandu

You have leisure day today so you have option to have short visit near Kathmandu, or can accomplish your personal activities and shopping is always there for memento back to home. In the evening we will have farewell dinner to celebrate our adventurous journey and beautiful moments together along the journey. Night stay in Kathmandu

Day 18Final Departure

Finally, the day has come to an end. We had lots of memorable experiences throughout our journey to Upper Mustang Trek. Today, one of the representative from Trailblazer Travel and Tours will come to take you at Tribhuwan International Airport.
