Ruby Valley Trek Information:

Ganjala Pass trekking is one of the most challenging passes in the gigantic Nepal Himalaya. It is a combination of geographical diverse beauties, the dwelling of varieties vegetation and many wildlife one hand, and high Himalayan Tamang typical cultural heritage and astonishing natural beauties are main features for the trekkers in another hand. The Ganja La Pass is located north of Kathmandu, accessible of 132 km drive in Langtang Region, offering a multitude of trekking destinations.
Langtang Ganja La Pass Trek tender an opportunity to explore typical Tamang village, their culture is similar as Tibetan and the panoramic Himalayan view of the Langtang Lirung, Gahesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Yala Peak, Naya Kang, Gaurishanker including the giant Annapurna Himalaya range far in the horizon. The Langtang Ganja La Pass Trekking is an entire wilderness and adventure experience for the mountains lovers and adventures seekers. During spring the forest on the trail is colorful and blooming full of Rhododendrons, it seems like paved fancy carpet on the trail. The trip into Helambu area via the Ganja-La pass (5,122m), which is serious undertaking requiring good equipment and experience from local Guides. For this challenging trek requires the use of technical climbing equipment and trekkers must be skilled in the use of this and be prepared to assist less well- equipped potters and staff. For few days there are no facilities of any lodges and houses along the trail, that’s why the groups have with their staff, must be fully self-sufficient of food and camping gears. The trail follows a small valley before reaching the glaciated pass where to have to use of ropes, crampons and ice axes may be necessary.

Lantang Trek FAQs

01How my Character needs to be, is this trek for me?

• Annapurna base camp trek suits for people who are fit, no need to be experienced. It will be good if you are concerned on your physical fitness like running, swimming, hiking. We in fact recommend to embark these exercises for your journey.
• If you are suffering from kind of any medical condition, we suggest you to seek medical advice from your doctors before coming to trek.
• Trekking is not an easy task, so you need to be aware regarding the discomfort before being adapted in the regions.
• It is better you prepare for trekking for at least 2/3 months before you depart, an aerobic exercise would be pretty much good and needs to follow 3/4 times per week as a minimum requirement.

02What is the procedure of airport pickup, will someone come there for me on my arrival?

• The procedure of airport pickup is that we will send one of our representative to pick you up. He will stand there holding the sign of Trailblazer Tours and Treks outside the terminal, he will greet you and transfer you to your respected hotel in our private vehicle.

03How can I get visa for Nepal? Is it upon on arrival at the airport?

• Yes, the visa is on arrival and it is easy to get at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. And the visa differs accordingly on the basis of your stay in Nepal. The more you stay you need to pay more, but you will get Tourist Visa with Multiple Entries. As US $ 25 for 15 days, and for 30 days you need to pay

04Do I need any extra documents?

• It’s hassle free, as you just need to bring a copy of your travel insurance, your passport with 3 (passport sizes) photos while coming for trip to Nepal. The photos are needed for permits.

05What kind of facilities will be there in Kathmandu, Pokhara and within Trekking?

• Our motto is to give perfect service to our customers, for that reason we do not compromise with the standard. We will transfer you to standard rooms at three-star hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara as per our commitment.
• We are much concerned with the health of our customers, so during the trek along teahouses, guesthouses we provide clean rooms, with basic facilities.
• We can also provide our own sleeping bags but it is the best idea to have your own during trekking.
• The lodges within the treks normally provides single and double room. If possible, there will be dining around a bon fire. The toilet in teahouses are full with crucial and basic facilities.

06As the weather is cold, do guesthouses heated or have air-conditioning facilities?

• As the weather is cold but the guest houses do not facilitate with air-conditioners or heaters. However, when it gets colder above 3500m, they have the minimal facility to hit the dining room by using kerosene or metal heater. To use this facility, you have to spend some dollars.

07Can I please know about the toilet facilities along the trail?

There are toilet facilities in teahouse/guesthouse but apart from that while on trek and in emergency case you find some secluded place and go for toilet.

08I have heard about foods not being that hygienic, can you please clarify this? What kind of food can we expect during our journey?

• Yes, there is rumor but it is better to visit and experience on your own. We are much concerned with the hygiene and the cook in most teahouses/lodges in Annapurna Base Camp trail are experienced in cooking a delicious range of food items.
• You can enjoy the varieties of food ranging from pasta, potatoes, lentils, soups, fresh vegetables, eggs and many more. They will even serve you tasty dessert. There will the non-vegetarian items too, you even enjoy with chocolates, hot drinks, soft drinks, and chips.

09How is the drinking water facility in the trekking zones?

• There isn’t any problem for bottled water as it is easily available at guesthouse and lodges. But Yesh above Chhomorng you need to take purified water as plastic bottles are banned by Annapurna conservation area.
• If you have plan to drink normal water you must bring some kind of purifying drops or any kind of purifier with you.

Ruby Valley Trek Itinerary

Day 1Day of Arrivalin Kathmandu.

Today is a day of arrival in Kathmandu. We will be there at the airport to greet and pick you up. One of the staff from Trailblazer Trekking and Tours will transfer you to your respective hotel. Today you can enjoy around the streets of Kathmandu and explore around Thamel area. In the evening there will be a welcome dinner within authentic Nepalese Restaurant with Nepalese cuisine with beautiful cultural programs.

Day 2Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi [1600m] [7-8 hrs Drive]

After breakfast we will drive north from Kathmandu over zigzag and hilly road that passes through a busy market town of Trishuli Bazaar and Dhunche. We will continue our drive journey to reach Syabrubesi where there are many tea houses and good camping sites. Today’s drive offers good views of Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and Langtang Himalayan Ranges. Besides, you will get brief glimpses of village life along the drive route.

Day 3Trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang [2340m] [5-6 hrs Trek]

We start our trek from Syabrubesi following the trail that leads through the new valley road to Chilime Khola valley. From there we will turn left and head west on a good trail towards Thambuchet and continue trekking until we arrive at Gatlang.

Day 4Trek from Gatlang to Somdang [3280m] [6-7 hrs Trek]

Leaving Gatlang we will follow a broad trail that leads to Parvati Kunda. From there we will trek through forest filled with pine and rhododendron trees before climbing up to Khurpu Dada Pass at 3710 meters. From here we will turn west and descend all the way down to Somdang.

Day 5Trek from Somdang to Tipling [2080m][6-7 hrs Trek] via Pasang La Pass [3842m]

From Somdang we will follow the trail that climbs up through dense forest before traversing above a large kharka that heads towards Pasang La Pass at 3842 meters where locals have built a small gompa. From the top we will gradually descend through terraced fields of Lawadun or the village of Tipling. There are few tea houses and good camping sites in Tipling.

Day 06Trek from Tipling to Shertung [1875m] [5-6 hrs Trek]

From Tipling we will descend to cross over Adha river and start to climb towards the village of Shertung. During the trek today we will have opportunity to look at the fertile river valleys. Shertung is a small village inhabited mainly by Tamang. From here good views of Lapsang Karpo and Ganesh Himal renge can be seen.

Day 07Visit Tatopani Hot Springs [2 hrs walk] & trek to Chalish Gaon [1640m][4-5 hrs Trek]

We will trek for about 30 minutes to reach Chalish Gaon. Here we will leave our stuffs and take a walk to reach Tatopani which means hot water/spring. Enjoy your day at the hygenic hot spring in one of the best hot spring in this region. We will return to Chalish Gaon for the overnight stay.

Day 08Trek from Chalish to Jharlang [3020m] [5-6 hrs Trek]

We will continue our trek form Chalish following the trail that passes through Mani Danda. From here great views of Ganesh Himal Range can be seen. Our further trek passes through Deul danda, Gobre village, Chhap danda and Bandari Bhir. Rock climbing has gained more popularity in recent years around this area. We will continue to trek following the trail that passes through Lishne jungle and Chhapchyat village and arrive at Jurlang.

Day 09Trek from Jharlang to Darkha Gaon [850m] [6-7 hrs Trek]

Leaving Jharlang we will gradually descend down to Jharlang Phedi while passing along terraced fields with stunning landscapes. Crossing over several suspension bridges we continue on the trail that leads to Darkha Gaon. People from different tribe communities reside in this village.

Day 10Trek from Darkha Gaon to Darkha Phedi [1349m] [1 hr Trek] and Drive from Darkha Phedi to Dhading Besi & then to Kathmandu [7-8 hrs Drive]

We will follow the trail that descends all the way down to Darkha Phedi. From there we will take a local jeep and drive over the zigzag bumpy roads to arrive at Dhading Besi. During our drive from Darkha Phedi we will pass along villages of Kimtang Phedi, Katunje and Jyamrung. After arriving at Dhading Besi we will take another drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 11Final Departure

Finally, the day has come to an end. We had lots of memorable experiences throughout our journey to Upper Mustang Trek. Today, one of the representative from Trailblazer Travel and Tours will come to take you at Tribhuwan International Airport.
